Get Involved with the Jax Bama Club!

Would you like to lend your time and talents and give back to the club? We have lots of opportunities for you to get involved! Send an email to [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering and which committee(s) you would like to join.

Membership/Engagement Committee:

• Actively recruit local Alabama fans to join the chapter.
• Conduct an annual survey of members to get feedback and recommendations about what would keep members engaged in the club. Recommendations will be shared with the Events Committee and the board as appropriate so that implementation can be achieved.
• Solicit feedback with members during the year for ideas and suggestions they have.

Events Committee:

• Work with the board to develop a yearly calendar of events, including the annual scholarship drive event.
• To continue to improve upon Jax Bama Club’s special events, and come up with new ways to attract members to events.
• To select speakers, locations, and topics for events
• To collaborate with the marketing/engagement committee to identify events that could meet member needs, and develop a marketing plan to advertise events

Marketing Committee:

• Create flyers and graphics for club related events
• Assist in updating social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter)
• Create and send out email campaigns advertising latest club news and events
• Work with National Alumni Association to create and send out postcards to area alumni and fans
• Work closely with Events and Volunteer Committees to make sure upcoming events are advertised in advance.

Scholarship Committee:

• Meet annually to review scholarship applications from local area students (typically over 100+ applicants a year) and select top choices with fellow committee members. Meeting is held in April of each year and typically lasts several hours.
• If able, attend high school awards ceremonies for chosen recipients.
• Participate in annual scholarship drive event and help Events Committee in creating the program.

Volunteer Committee:

• Organize several events throughout the year where the club can give back to the community.
• Coordinate with Marketing Committee to promote events.
• Assist the UA Admissions Department with annual reception for prospective students

Fundraising Committee:

• Work closely with the Events Committee on planning the annual scholarship drive.
• Ask for donations or discounts on raffle and auction items to be used at game watches and the scholarship drive.
• Meet with potential donors on contributing to the club’s two endowed scholarships.
